Pappa!!!??

Today shanu had dressed up as fairy princess for a secret santa party at her school. When I picked her up to go home, she showed me 2, 3 things packed/gift wrapped in her bag & said they can only be opened at home, as told by her teacher. Then started a series of storiez as to what happened at school n all. She told me some 2,3 girls were calling her by the name eshita, inspite she informing she's shanaya. Then she said swasti shared her wings with her, aditi shared something like magic wand too. So i said she could have shared her pretty fairy hair band with them too. She immediately said "off course i did mumma, i was just going to tell you that" . Big girl...okay 😊 Then she told ariana was crying in school so she went and asked "what happened, why are you crying?" Ariana told her that she fell off and got hurt. Shanu it seems told her it will be alright & patiently waited next to her untill ariana stopped crying. (Her words " ti halu halu halu radaychi thambli" :) Then both the girls played alot  (mag aamhi khup masti keli :)
Hearing all this, I said "wow!! Tu khupach chhan good girl ahe ga shona...kiti chhan vagtes, koni shikavala mazya raja la he sagla" . We were home by then so I had picked her up while asking this , kissing her on cheek. raja ekdum godach god hasla ni mhanto.."maza pappa, mala pappa shikavto he sagla good girl vhayla!" Yeah ...i heard it right!!!!! Pappa shikavto sagla 😐🤔 😂

Kashala???

Well, this one's a long due. I should have written or rather planning to write aboyt it for over few months now.
Shanu quite inquisitive, would keep asking questions untill she's satisfied. The way to go to root cause is her method of asking "kashala"! For eg. Shanu:Zopetun uthlyavar sakal hote ka mumma? me: ho shona. Shanu: kashala? Me explains: because that's when the sun rises and goes up in the sky. Shanu: kashala :D (its pronounced with a touch of whine like kashaaaalaaaaaa...lol can't help joking it sounds like Utpal Dutt saying 'kashala' many a times :D ) Then Me: blah blah blah...untill the next kashalaaa :;) lovely bebo. Keep up your inquisitive bright nature on forever,love my baby ❤

Lovely dreams

Shanu had seen some dream, which was still fresh in her mind as she woke up & started talking to me. Being unaware that it was a dream, her first question to me was " mumma tula aathavtay..aapan kase tya fish chya ghari gelo ni tya donhi fish aaplyashi chhan bolat hotya". Me "hmm..ho re beta mala aathavtay" . I try to change the topic since i had no details and did not want to be caught. Me " its a beautiful day outside, shall we go to the balcony"? Shanu "mumma aapan tithe kase gelo ga?". At that time rahul walked in and she got distracted. But the questions kept coming in between for next two hours like how did we manage to swim under water? why was the big fish saying hi to me? Were there no scary fish to eat us?? I tried to answer as much possible by playing safe like " off course there were no big scary fish there, how else would we have gone there?". Then I told rahul the whole thing...& Immediately he asked shanu " oho..did you dream about a fish?" Shanu's eyes gleamed, with a lovely wide smile, all excited she narrated her dream in details :)☺

Mango, chicken aani sauce!

There's a toy shop by the name "mango" in the vicinity which we frequently visit. One day, on the way home from school we were chatting looking at the shops outside from cab. Shanu was asking me quite a few questions & then her typical "kashala" would continue. We had to buy a gift for her friend so i said on the way home we will go to mango to pick up the gift. She agreed and asked me why's that shops name is mango when there are no mangoes there. I said "people name their shops on their likes..may be the shopkeeper loves mangoes a lot & thats why he named his shop 'mango'". She nodded her head from up to down like an adult saying "ok" . And the next question was "tyala kashala mangoes aawadtat?" :D  i said "how you like chocolates  (she was eating so the easy 'junkfood' reference:P) ..the same way". Then I asked her "if you had to open a shop, what would you name it?" She thought for 5 seconds and said "Chicken! I would name it chicken and sauce!!!" :)

Tukde karun phekun de :D

I am writing almost after 4 months!! A very long time...my phone wasn't working for good 1 & 1/2 months & then dengue took quite a few days.

Shanu's growing up fast & is getting more expressive by day. These days when something she dislikes happens, she asks me to cut it down, chop it & throw it in hot water or to the tiger to eat or even to the fish to eat. For eg. I get angry at shanu for she being too naughty. She dislikes me being angry with her. So once she agrees to be a good girl i smile at her. Then she says "mumma tu te (maza rag) kapun tyache tukde tukde karu ni tikde garam panyat phekun deu" :) so mumma follows. Te kapun, tyache chhote chhote pretend tukde karun mumma te garam panyat phekun dete :P :D :D :)

Gadhav!

Shana had done a mischief (a small amount of honey fell on the floor. My gadhav made sure to dance on it and later spread it to bean bag and some area on the floor :) so I got angry on her. She says " mumma be nice to me". Me : "then u need to behave better". So the little one became a bit quiet. Just to change that I casually ask "Gadhav! Mumma cha gadhav kon ahe shanu" while cleaning the floor. Pat came a reply "pappa" followed by a mischievous smile :) :D

Tu chhoti zali mhanje!

Mumma : wow shanu..u have dressed up so well! I really like ur dress..its ur favourite ..right?
Shanu  : yes mumma..this is my favourite dress.
Mumma : would you like to share it with me? Can I wear it sometime? Pleaaaaaseeeeee
Shanu : mumma ..this is not ur size. Ha tula honar nahi. ...tu chhoti zali mhanje me tula ha dress ghalen ha..okay?
Mumma : ok my love

What a sweet concept (I think this trait is completely on me :) I remember telling my mom that I will do this/ that to her when she becomes small & I become big :) )
As shanu grows up mumma becomes small & vice versa. Love my girl.

First day at school

Shanu was so excited & happy to go to school on day 1. My brave bachha didn't cry at all while dropping for a second consecutive day (yesterday) now, however while picking her up when the scool was over..she was full teary eyed     ; (
Never mind ..its just a phase.

Baby tortoise

Shanu often pretends to be a baby these days :) yeah she loves to become a baby for a while...ani mag sagla bobda bolun , lad karun gheun zale ki parat 'big girl' hote :D

Milk & pesticides !!!

Okay..its not the usual orrange comparing with apple stuff. This one's comparing milk with pesticides!!!!

Manu ..u gotta read & understand this when you grow up & I am noting iy here just for that.
The Dr. s from pune, doha & mumbai have told me to keep you away from dust, smoke, pollens, insecticide/ pesticides smells, u are allergic to them (why & how u developed the allergy is smthing I will tell u in person when you grow up)
In the mumbai house they use tons of mosquito killer spray , I have been trying my best to keep this stuff at distance from you but since we are living in the same house it almost gets impossible at times for me to do it. So I tell rj to tell his parents to stop using it untill shanaya is here. I get the answer as 'doctor ne dudh bhi to mana kiya hai na' !!!!! (Yes, the doctor has asked me to reduce the quantity of milk but since I believe in milk I didn't reduce it for you)
Seriously,  one has to 100% desperate (in proving one or ones parents correct!!)  In saying anything like this  .in which a person is comparing milk with insecticide! !!! I swear, I will have no further questions on any such intellect. I will do whatever is the best for you my love..to the best of my ability!

Gd nt everyone!

Last night story. Me : shanaya close your eyes.  Shanaya : tu pahile papa la good night mhan. Me :gn papa! Shanaya : tu alush la gd nt mhannnnn. Me : gd nt alush. Shanaya : tu kimi la gd nt mhannnn. Me : gd nt kimi. Shanaya : tu vinaya la gd nt mhannnn Me : gd nt vinaya. Shanaya : tu vinaya mumma la pan gd nt mhannnn...Me : shanayaaaaa..thats enough of gd nites now (raised voice! ) shanaya : mumma tu chidte kashala? mag tu everyone la gd nt mhannn!  Then mumma says gd nt everyone & we sleep!

Favoritism!

'Mumma tu mala aunty Dr. kade gheun ja...uncle Dr. kade nahi jayacha' iti shanaya! Me : ka ga?
Shanaya : me girl ahe mala aunty Dr. kade jayacha..uncle Dr. kade nahi. Boy will go to uncle dr.!!!

Wonder he kuthun ala?? Vayovarsha : 2.6 years!!

My love!

Today, while putting shana to sleep, I got hurt on my right foot by the bedside. I screamed the min I had hit my foot there. Shanu came to know mumma got hurt. She insisted me to be right on bed next to her. Then she wanted to see my 'bau' so I quickly showed her the spot and asked her to sleep. She says 'mumma tuza bau bara houn jaiel...tu kalji nako karu mumma..tuza bau lavkar thik houn jaiel..okay? Its okay mumma..tuza bau khup lavkar bara hoiel' ! & she is just 2.5 years! My love loves me back too!!!! Soooooo proud of you. ..& off course. .love you loads♡

My name is :)

Yesterday,  for the first time shana replied "shanaya", on being asked her name by a new person.
We had rj's collegue at home in the evening, sumeet naredi. He was introduced to shanu as 'uncle'. This fellow asked her "whats your name?". My birdie quickly responded with "shanaya" :)
Thats the first time she did it. Hyachya aadhi koni nav vicharla tar aamhi mumma chya manevar doka theun "mumma tu sang" nahitar "u tell mumma/papa" mhanaycho ;) :) :)

Today when were at neighbours (bhutara family) a lady dropped by at their place. She asked shana her name & again quickly the answer came as "shanaya".

Potato story

Yesterday when we were at the supermarket,  we entered vegetables aisle and saw some tiny, light brown, berry like shapes in one of the baskets. My daughter asked me "what's that?" I said "They are baby potatoes, shanaya". As we walked a little ahead, there were big potatoes in one of the baskets. Shanaya instantly shouted "look mumma....they are mumma potatoes!!!" :D :)
