Smart!

Shanu is all of 2 years 4 months, actually a big baby but is very smart! She understands things around her and she speaks like an adult :)
For ex. Rj & e had a squabble. Rj as usual went to his 'best mode'!! Shanu quickly says 'papa tu mumma shi asa bolu nako..tu mumma la kishi (lad lad..kinva maya maya pan mhantey) kar' :) maza kokru :) ♡♡♡
Then..rj had a backache. He asked me 'path dabun detes ka?' So I did. Maza kokru mhanta 'papa tuzi path dukhte..me tula aushadh laun dete'. She went to his drawer, got an ointment (luckily that was for back :) & gave it to him to open :) such a sweetheart my love is!!!! Shanulya..mumma loves u loads♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

A miracle!

Today, shanaya slept at night & I was just watching her for few moments. It took me back to 2, 3 years. Life is a miracle!  I remember,  I used to be very excited to watch this tiny little baby in my womb on the ultrasound. I remember,  she wriggling in my tummy. I remember,  she stretching herself and feeling her hand or foot with hand on my tummy, then I would tell her "manu, aat ghe, aat ghe bala hat, mumma la dukhta asa manuli" & then manuli would slowly take her hand/foot back :) Yup, she would understand me talking even then. Then, after shanu was born, I got so busy that I didn't realise how the first few months went by. She would surprise me with something new everyday, she does even now. She is simply brilliant!  She is my miracle!  Miracle of my life!!!

Favourites!

This ducky seen in the pic has been our favourite for last 2, 3 days now. It eats, sleeps & lives with shana. Almost inseparable!  & for some reason if its not found around, then we have to launch a search mission asap for it :)

Also, that top she is wearing in the pic is a very old one (oh no! I am not a bad mom who puts only old clothes on my baby please! ) It was bought when shanaya was only 6, 7 months. However,  it still fits her and it gets worn the second its seen!! Other outfits take hours!! Yes..its a BIG BIG BIG favourite of her's, and for quite some time now :) maza dhampya! Brilliant & super fussy!! Again ..just like me, even though I think its bad to be so fussy! My love said "cheeeeeeeeeessssseeeeee" in the second pic for me :)

Independent streak

I have this independent streak (just like mom :) that I don't wait for anyone,  find my own way & just run on that ! Without looking behind where poor mom & dad are :)

Open ur nose!! ;)

Babdya plays a game these days. She is learning english very fast and I guess she would be fluent (just like she is in marathi already) pretty soon. Okay, so the game starts like r his. Babdya is either laying next to me or sitting on my lap facing me. Then she says "open ur mouth" , I open my mouth and show her. Then she says "open ur nose" :D ;) , I tweak my nose just for sake of (opening :) it. (Haha..I have tried to make her understand thrice that the nose is always open and she has understood it too, for that part then she holds my nose tight and tells me to breathe :) ) but still she doesn't let this open ur nose go. Then she says "open ur dole" ;) :) so I close my eyes for few seconds and open it wide like a toy doll ..& then babdya laughs her loudest saying hahahahaha :)

The warm love!

Shanaya has a small blue chair and a table for herself. Often, she sits there and tells me or rj to sit on a big chair opposite her. Today, she chose rj, asked him to sit opposite on a big chair (dining table one) .She asked him to sit exactly the way she sat on her chair, legs in front resting on the chair support and back straight.  Rj copied it for her. Within few seconds she realised the big chair doesn't have footrest, so she carefully says " pappa tuzya chair la asa pay thevayla nahi ahe, aapan tuzyasathi navin chair aanu ha" . Kitttii god asu shakta koni kharach :) such love & warmth!! She just melts my heart. She is my heart!!! Love u baby!!!

Dressing doldrums! !

Oh boy! My 2 year old  is soooooo fussy about dressing up. She won't wear whatever I show her but will pick up her oldest clothes and insists only on wearing them!! Now who doesn't like to see one's kid dressed up in nice and new clothes??
Guess this is one drawback of having a willful child..is it? Manya...I am sure u will prove me wrong when u grow up coz u wud have a great dressing sense...but till that time I can't let u live in 'ur choice'!!

I am talking!

Today when rahul was taking shanu out for a small walk/play in the evening,  she was taking long to dress up. He sent her to me finally saying u get her dressed up. I have a great rapport with shanu and I understand her very well. When I askrd her as to why she is not getting dressed? She says 'I am talking to papa' so I started to listen carefully,  she kept talking (a bit gibberish ;) in English to ragul as if she is trying to convey something. We couldn't understand and asked her to repeat.  Again the same stuff in same sequence. ..but we just couldn't figure :)
Then somehow I managed to get her dressed to go out.
My little birdie is already talking in English :)

Fun

Papa=fun (though mom says its silly fun most of the times!!) No wonder we loved to call silly papa ;)

& mom= pure love *-) + teacher + good fun + friend for life (almost like friend, philosopher & guide ;)

:) :) :)

Tula he pahijeee?

Shanu is eating her khudum khudum from a bowl sitting on a sofa, I am  sitting next to her. She asks me " mumma tula khudum khudum pahiijeee?" I say "no beta" ! One khdm khdm gets given in my mouth to eat. Second time "mumma tula khudum khudum pahiijeee?" I say "no beta"! One more khudum khudum lands in my mouth. ..again the same question comes......and it continues :) :) untill the khudum khidum gets over from the bowl... :D :D

Aushadh

By now shanu knows that one doesn't eat when one's tummy is full. Or doesn't drink when one doesn't want to. So here's what this smarty does!!
She has cough right now hence coufh medicine gets given to her regularly, & but off course she doesn't like it. Its either given to her by engaging her somewhere or plain forcefully :( sorry pillu , some things have to be done that way.
Today after dinner, I told rj to give her her medicine. She saw her dad approaching her with medicine and this girl says "papa maza pot bharlay, mala aushadh nako" !!!!!!! Oh boy, how cute is that smart innocence!!!! I couldn't stop laughing :) :)
She repeated " papa, ata maza pot bharlay, mala aushadh nako"!!! Hahah..maza laadoo khup god ahe :)

What r u doing?

My bachha is super fluent in her mother tongue already. She can express her thoughts,  emotions very well in marathi. Now she is learning English, super fast again :) By now shanu knows quite a few sentences and she uses rhem often. One such funny and cute example is... she knows the meaning of 'what r u doing?'
So what my doll does is, she tells me or rahul " mumma tu shanu la what r u doing mhanu" :) :) :) Nothing on earth can beat the cuteness with which she says it. Just another sentence of her's may be "mumma tula he pahije?" More about that later :)

Alright, so I ask her "what r u doing shanu?" To which she replies very well then by describing whatever she is doing at that point in time. For ex. "I am playing piano" or "I am jumping on the bed" etc. Etc. The same question then gets asked to each parent and they answer their pillu too :) :)

2nd Birthday

Shana had a great birthday this year. Last year she was wondering why so many people have gathered and why everyone just wanted to talk to her :) even though she enjoyed having so many kids around and dancing a bit. This year she very well knew its her birthday and she is the star :) The day started a bit late, rahul had already left for work so I wished her when she got up. I made batatawadas for her as a special dish, nothing sweet as anyway there ws a party in the evening. After she got ready, we quickly visited the supermarket and ordered  a cake with fishes and stars (both r loved by shanaya) on it. Actually,  we had been to the cake shops day before also but i couldn't finish ordering then. After that we came home  & she took her afternoon nap. Whn she got up, I told her that we are having a birthday party where her friends and few people will show up and it will be a lot of fun. She was excited to wear her new pink dress (she was not ready to take it off on trial in babyshop :)  I had to tell her that we have ordered it and that the store will directly send it to our address on her birthday :) Yes, it was hid in the house all that while. By that time rj was back too. Then deepak and family came to pick us up.We drove to the hotel where party was organised. Shanaya was a bit quiet initially to see the hotel, we were early and good that she had time to settle before the guests would start coming in. When she saw the balloon blower, she wanted to do it on her own but obviously she was to small to do tht :) so with a bit help from me she managed to blow 2 balloons and then playfully settled for a big bunch of balloons.
We cut the cake around 8 pm when everyone had come. This time it was fun since shana really knew what to expect & she loved cutting the cake and eating it too :) She had fun playing with alia, saiesha (aadya was sleeping) . Not many kids were there as all the Indian kids here in gulf go back home for summer vacation.

Bau

While playing with me shanu scratched my cheek badly with her sharp baby nails. I showed what she had done to me & asked her to play gently. She realised that & toned down. Then the whole day she kept on saying "mummala bau zhala" :)

The poet

Shanu is very good at languages & is poetic too. She uses metaphor so easily that she can give run to even a seasoned poet. Just to quote a few of her metaphors. Eg1. She learnt peeling (rather separating the cloves from each other) off garlic by the age of 15 months since I would give her one in hand wgile I wud work in kitchen. She calls it lasun in marathi. One fine day while being out for a walk, she pointed at crescent moon and asked me "mumma he kay? " I said "chandra" she smiled & said "no, ha lasun ahe" . :) :) The similar shapes gave her this idea. At that time she was around 18 months.
Eg.2 : we have some squares on the ceiling, one afternoon shanaya asked me again "mumma he kay?" I explained it to her rather in a lengthy way. She stopped me and said "no, they are biscuits!!!" That was at 20 months :)
Eg.3 : I have a mole on my lower neck in front which she often plays with. One day while playing pat came a question again "mumma he kay?"  I said its a mole (mus in marathi) My little poet says " no! Its a kishmish" laughing loudly :) :) :)
